Unplugging is such a challenge in this day and age. We have found that with the pandemic we have become even more dependent on our tech. Kids are attending school and other activities virtually. We spend hours on computers, tablet, and smart phones in an attempt to stay connected. Connecting through tech is an important way that we keep ourselves connected however it is just as important to take time away from all the tech.
We spent the Christmas break on the road rediscovering our favorite spots in South Africa. It was a fabulous time to unplug and spend time with family and friends. Taking the time to immerse ourselves in experiences! This is such an important part of learning and reconnecting as a family unit, as well as a great way to getaway from it all. Taking time to learn about the animals while on safari, spending time at the beach soaking up the sun and trying out surfing again allowed us to take a deep breath and refresh after a very challenging year. Tech of course will always have a part of our lives as we live in a digital world but for a short few weeks it moved to the back burner during our family time.
